Job summary

North Sask Victim Services Inc. in La Ronge is seeking a full-time Executive Director to lead the delivery of the NSVS mandate in line with the board's vision. The ED will supervise about 20 staff, travel to northern communities, and report to the NSVS Board.

Responsibilities include building communications with staff, volunteers, RCMP and community partners; develop operations plans and budgets; ensure governance and accountability; oversee policy, records and reporting.

  • Familiarity with governance and non-profit operations.

North Sask Victim Services Inc. is a non-profit organization that works with the RCMP to provide assistance to victims of crime and traumatic events in the Northern Saskatchewan Administrative District (NSAD). The Executive Director (ED) will be responsible for overseeing and managing the delivery of NSVS' mandate in accordance with the vision, mission and strategic plan of the NSVS Board. The ED will be responsible for the supervision of 20 staff. This is a full-time position working out of La Ronge and requires travel to all northern communities NSVS provides services to. The ED reports directly to the NSVS Board.

Duties
  • Create and maintain open lines of communications between staff, volunteers, the Board of Directors, RCMP, the Victims Services Branch and community agencies
  • Manage staff, including recruiting, training, supervising, evaluating performance and providing recognition
  • Support the NSVS Board to carry out its governance functions
  • Develop and maintain operational plans and budgets
  • Provide day to day administration such as maintaining operational policy, program evaluation, record keeping and information management systems
  • Ensure accountability throughout NSVS, including preparing required reports
  • Asses community needs and implement best practices
Requirements
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain an RCMP Enhanced Reliability Security Clearance
  • Valid Class 5 Drivers License
  • 3-5 years of management experience (or combination of education and experience)
  • Knowledge of legislation and regulations ( i.e. Employment Act, Non-Profit Corporations Act) that are applicable to the organization
  • Familiarity with counselling theories, grant writing, budgeting, accounting and human resource management
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Knowledge of northern and Indigenous culture, identities and languages
