Job description

Scope and Accountabilities

Founded in 1963, it provides a variety of programs and services for persons with intellectual or other disabilities, as well as their families. Today, Inclusion NWT is directed by a volunteer Board of Directors and employs about 120 full‑and part‑time staff as well as many casual employees who provide services in six different service areas. Services range from supported & independent living to education supports, to employment opportunities and supports, to peer groups and community activities. Inclusion NWT’s annual operating budget is approximately $4.5 million plus variable donations. It holds approximately $1.3 million in capital assets, at cost, and approximately $800,000 in investments. Inclusion NWT is a member of Inclusion Canada, a national federation with 420 associations in all provinces and territories. Reporting to the President and accountable to the Board of Directors, the Executive Director ensures the smooth operation of all Inclusion NWT business, programs and services. This includes the appointment of, and delegation to, program managers and supporting staff, the execution of the fiduciary duties of a non‑profit organization, the compliance with municipal, territorial and federal requirements, and the management of current and potential funding opportunities.
