Cancer Care Alberta (CCA) is seeking a dynamic senior leader to join our passionate team as an Executive Director (ED) at the new Arthur E. Child Comprehensive Cancer Centre in Calgary. This role requires proven leadership skills in complex healthcare environments to enhance cancer care delivery in Alberta. The ED will collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, problem-solve, plan, navigate change, and drive innovation, aligning the centre with CCA’s provincial roadmap. The new Arthur E. Child Cancer Centre, over 127,000 square metres, opened in fall 2024 in northwest Calgary, connected to Foothills Medical Centre and University of Calgary, offering outpatient clinics, inpatient beds, research labs, and advanced treatment technologies.
Description:
Reporting to the Senior Program Lead, Clinical Operations, the ED will work in partnership with the site Senior Medical Director to provide operational and strategic leadership for cancer services at the Arthur E. Child. This executive role oversees site operations, provincial program objectives, and quality measurement, supporting research, innovation, patient engagement, and data-driven decisions. The ED will collaborate with local and provincial stakeholders, including the University of Calgary, Alberta Cancer Foundation, government ministries, and industry partners. Key responsibilities include operational and strategic leadership, financial and people management, relationship management, and risk management. The role involves coaching and supervising 10-15 clinical leaders managing over 1,000 staff.
