Job Summary

If you join us as an Executive Chef, your responsibilities will include:

  • Ensuring flawless execution of catering food services.
  • Developing positive client relationships and ensuring overall client satisfaction with service and menu options.
  • Demonstrating creativity with menus, staying updated on current trends and cutting-edge cooking techniques, while following Healthy Eating Guidelines.
  • Adhering to all H&S policies and regulations, including HACCP standards.
  • Overseeing staff stations and maintaining cleanliness of all kitchen areas.
  • Ensuring compliance with Compass Quality Assurance, Health and Safety Programs, Occupational Health and Safety Act, and WHMIS regulations.
  • Coordinating workplace inspections and WHMIS training for staff, and reporting incidents promptly to the Food Service Director or designate.

  • Minimum five years of chef experience with a strong catering background, including three years of leadership experience.
  • Experience managing high-volume catering projects and preparing large quantities of meals daily, independently when necessary.
  • Creativity in applying current food trends and presentation techniques to menus and operations.
  • A passion for quality and customer service.
  • Attention to detail and strong teamwork skills.
  • Excellent client relationship management skills.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proficiency in MS Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed.
  • Ability to travel within Canada, with a valid driver’s license for local site travel.
