Job description

Founded in 1899, St. Andrew’s College (SAC) is an independent, all-boys university preparatory school for Grades 5-12. Located 40 minutes north of Toronto, SAC’s 126-acre campus is home to a mix of 650 boarding and day students from 25 countries. We invite applications for a six-month contract at St. Andrew's College in the role of Executive Assistant to the Head of School. The contract is for the period from August to February.

As a critical support to the Head of School, the Executive Assistant ensures the smooth running of the Head’s office, including administrative functions such as calendaring, travel coordination, presentations, and correspondence. As a member of the Leadership Team, the Executive Assistant provides insight, research, and support to key school strategic initiatives.

The Executive Assistant welcomes and receives guests of the Head and Board of Governors and is a critical school ambassador. The Executive Assistant is a point of contact and prepares correspondence with outside affiliate organizations, including CAIS, CIS, TABS, and other network schools. As a mentor and trusted confidante within the school, the Executive Assistant provides insight and feedback to the Head and Leadership Team.

The Executive Assistant will liaise with the Board Chair, Board of Governors, and CFO to provide administrative support to the Board of Governors and Board Committees. This will include coordinating meetings, meeting minutes, preparing and distributing agendas and related materials, and managing logistics.

The Executive Assistant provides leadership to the academic administration departments with several direct reports and oversees their responsibilities, performance evaluations, and professional development plans. Working as a team, the educational administration departments coordinate many significant events, including Prize Day and Ministry Inspections.

Candidates must have extensive experience working at the executive level and demonstrated exceptional customer service skills. The ability to manage multiple priorities, work collaboratively, use sound judgment and discretion, and have strong written communication skills are all key elements of this position. Adherence to deadlines through solid organization and time management will be paramount. Successful candidates must demonstrate strong technical skills.
