About the Opportunity
The District of Lake Country has an exciting opportunity for a permanent full-time Executive Assistant, based in Lake Country, BC.
Reporting to the Chief Administrative Officer, the Executive Assistant is a detail-oriented, high performer responsible for providing confidential administrative support to the Mayor, Council, Chief Administrative Officer, and Senior Leadership Team. This position requires a high level of confidentiality, sound judgment, diplomacy and understanding of local government complexity in a political environment.
Your responsibilities include, but are not limited:
• Provide reception and confidential administrative support and services to the Mayor,
Council, Chief Administrative Officer and Senior Leadership Team;
• Provide weekly, monthly and yearly schedule for Mayor activities including weekly
briefings on anticipated meetings and events;
• Proactively coordinate all functions in preparation for Council events, conferences,
and appointments including travel, catering, venues and virtual meetings, for the Mayor, Council and Chief Administrative Officer.
More About You
To qualify for this role, you must have a minimum of two years toward a college diploma in office administration, business administration, public administration or other relevant diploma, or a certificate in local administration awarded by the Board of Examiners and a minimum of five years’ in a local government administrative setting. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
As our ideal candidate, you have thorough knowledge of advanced knowledge of corporate and administration legislation and procedures affecting local government. You are an exceptional communicator, both written and verbal, and skilled in dealing with highly confidential matters with courtesy and diplomacy.
