Job summary

HRCE's LeMarchant-St. Thomas Elementary is seeking a Group Leader for the EXCEL Program Before & After School. The role covers 7:30-8:55am and 2:25-6:00pm, Monday to Friday, about 26.5 hours weekly.

Applicants need at least one year in child care, knowledge of recreational programming, strong communication, teamwork, and a high school diploma or equivalent. A valid First Aid/CPR is an asset; employment requires criminal checks.

Responsibilities

• Lead the before- and after-school program from 7:30–8:55am and 2:25–6:00pm, Monday to Friday.
• Supervise and engage children with structured and recreational activities.
• Ensure safety and adherence to program policies and licensing requirements.

The Group Leader will work in the before & after school program, 7:30-8:55am & 2:25-6:00pm, Monday to Friday. Approximately 26.50 hrs/week.

Requirements

• Must have a minimum of one year's experience in the child care field

• Have ability to work as part of a team
• High School Completion Certificate or equivalent

Assets

• Possession of a valid First Aid/CPR Certification is considered an asset

Rate of pay is $20.28 per hour plus vacation pay.

Potential for additional hours

Employment with the Halifax Regional Centre for Education is contingent upon providing a satisfactory Criminal Records Check with a Vulnerable Sector Search and Child Abuse Registry Search.
