Job summary

Tartigrade is seeking an experienced Excel Add-in Developer to design, build, and maintain VBA and C# add-ins that power our trading simulations and reporting workflows. You will work on .xlsm migration to .xlam, ensure compatibility across Office environments, and connect add-ins to databases and APIs.

The role is fully remote with full-time hours. You will collaborate with a small engineering team to deliver robust, high-performance Excel tooling for finance workflows.

Job Description

We are looking for an engineer to help build and maintain Excel add-ins that power our trading simulations and reporting workflows. You’ll work on both VBA macros and C# add-ins (.xlam, .xll, Excel-DNA), adding new features, improving performance, and ensuring compatibility with modern Excel environments.

Responsibilities

Excel Add-ins

• Develop and maintain Excel add-ins using VBA and C#.
• Add new features (e.g., option contract support, trading functions).
• Refactor legacy ‘.xlsm’ code into ‘.xlam’ add-ins where possible.
• Ensure compatibility across VBA, C#, and modern Office add-in frameworks.

Integration & APIs

• Connect Excel add-ins to databases (SQL Server/PostgreSQL) and external APIs.
• Support integration with C# backend logic and modern add-in components.

Testing & Documentation

• Write user guides and developer handoff documentation.
• Ensure performance and reliability in production Excel environments.

Requirements

Must-Have Skills:

• C#/.NET experience with Excel add-ins (.xll, Excel-DNA).

Nice-to-Have:

• Experience with TWS API or other financial data APIs.
