Job summary

Nhwelmen Construction in Kamloops, BC is seeking an Off Road Haul Truck Operator to join our growing team. This role involves operating rigid frame or articulated haul trucks in mining or civil construction settings and requires a clean driver’s abstract.

We offer a competitive hourly wage of $28 to $35, a benefit plan, and long-term employment for qualified individuals. You will perform daily safety inspections, complete logs and reports, and support operations with light labor as needed,

Qualifications

• Must have Class 5 Driver's Licence and a clean driving abstract.
• 1–3+ years of experience operating a rigid frame or articulated haul truck.
• Willingness to perform labour tasks when required.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work outdoors in all weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily 360° inspections and safety checks on equipment.
• Complete daily work reports and maintenance logs.
• Follow maintenance schedules and report repairs as needed.
• Support operations with light labour, loading/unloading materials.
• Maintain equipment cleanliness and logs.

Off Road Haul Truck Operator

We are currently recruiting Off Road Haul Truck Operatorsto join ourgrowing team.

General Duties & Responsibilities:

• Work safely in a mining or civil construction environment following company procedures and policies
• Daily 360° inspection of all equipment for operational and safety checks and advise if repair is required
• Pre-inspection of equipment includes checking all fluid level and ensuring they are topped up as needed
• Accurately complete all work reports and maintenance logs as required
• Follow equipment maintenance schedule and advise if repair is required
• Regularly perform safety inspection of equipment and tools
• Support operations through manual labour, including shoveling, operating powered equipment, loading and unloading of miscellaneous supplies and equipment, light maintenance, and other duties as needed

Requirements:

• Ability to complete mandatory internet-based Orientation and Indoctrination training and certification
• Class 5 Driver's Licence and ability to provide a clean Drivers Abstract
• Operates safely with care and attention to the equipment, the jobsite and the crew
• 1 - 3 plus years' experience operating a Rigid Frame or Articulated Haul Truck
• Familiar with Field Level Hazard Assessment
• Willingness to step out of the cab and perform labour tasks if and when required
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions and lift up to 50 lbs
• Strict attention and compliance with equipment cleanliness, maintenance and completing logs
• Experience on other equipment is an asset
• Mining experience an asset
• Good communication skills
• Reliable transportation

Location:

BC Interior - project locations are currently within the Kamloops/Thompson area. This is not a camp position.
