Job summary

Village Loft, part of Oliver & Bonacini Hospitality, is seeking an Event Server for our North York venue. You will assist with setup and breakdown, deliver food and beverages with professionalism, and ensure an exceptional guest experience throughout events.

This role requires at least 1 year of serving or banquet experience, Smart Serve certification, and the ability to work evenings, weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of serving or banquet experience.
• Smart Serve certification is required.
• Attention to detail and cleanliness are essential.
• Ability to stay calm, focused, and efficient under pressure.
• Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
• Confident verbal and written communication abilities.
• Professional presence with urgency and momentum.
• Flexible availability including evenings, late nights, weekends and holidays.
• Full-time position; legally eligible to work in Canada.

Responsibilities

• Assist with event setup and breakdown, ensuring the venue is guest-ready.
• Deliver food and beverages promptly and professionally throughout the event.
• Maintain cleanliness by clearing plates, glassware, and cutlery during service.
• Provide exceptional guest experiences by following service standards.
• Be knowledgeable about menu items and make recommendations.
• Monitor food presentation and quality throughout the event.
• Enter orders accurately into the POS system (if applicable).
• Keep your section clean and organized at all times.
• Follow food safety and sanitation guidelines.
• Be mindful of guest allergies or special requests and communicate them clearly.
• Complete opening, closing, and side duties efficiently and safely.
• Support the team and venue with other tasks as required.

Job Description

Event Servers play a key role in the execution of special events. They assist with setup and breakdown, deliver food and beverage service with efficiency and professionalism, and help maintain a clean, organized event space. Event Servers are knowledgeable about the event menu and are expected to monitor food quality and presentation, while providing attentive service throughout the event.

• Complete all opening, closing, and side duties efficiently and safely
• Support the team and venue with other tasks as required
