Job summary

Explore Edmonton Corporation's Edmonton EXPO Centre is seeking Kitchen Stewards to join our Stewarding team for a temporary assignment from October through December 23, 2026. You will help maintain clean, safe, and organized kitchen and back-of-house areas to support events.

The role offers flexible scheduling, meal discounts, and opportunities to develop leadership skills with mentors from event and hospitality professionals, while contributing to a diverse and inclusive workplace.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of experience working in a hotel or convention setting with a medium to large commercial kitchen.
• Ability to stand for long periods, lift up to 70 lbs., and work in an environment with noise levels of up to 90 decibels.
• Availability to work mornings, evenings, nights, and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Conduct routine cleaning of food preparation areas, the Pastry Shop, Hot Kitchen area, kitchen equipment and tools, floors, walls, ceilings, gutters, hoods, and other kitchen areas.
• Manage waste by ensuring all waste is disposed of efficiently according to its category, including compost, garbage, used cooking oil, recycling, and cardboard.
• Maintain the cleanliness of the ware washing room.
• Support EXPO's sustainability commitment by adhering to waste sorting guidelines.
