THE OPPORTUNITY

JoinScenic Luxury Cruises & Tours and Emerald Cruisesas anEvents Coordinator, where you’ll play a key role in bringing extraordinary travel experiences to life! Thisrole is perfect for an enthusiastic and organized individual eager to gain hands-on experience in event planning, sales operations, and luxury travel.

This role requires a highly organized and detail-oriented individual with strong communication, multitasking, and problem-solving skills to successfully coordinate logistics, engage with clients, and support internal teams. The ideal candidate works well both independently and collaboratively, and is passionate about delivering exceptional event experiences.

Key Responsibilities

  • Event Planning: Organize and execute promotional events, including but not limited to Information Sessions, private client events, trade shows, and Travel Lounges, aimed at showcasing our luxury cruise offerings
  • Logistics Management: Coordinate all logistical aspects of events, including venue selection, catering, travel arrangements, shipments, and audiovisual setup
  • Marketing Collaboration: Collaborate with the marketing team to create promotional materials, event invitations, and post-event follow-up campaigns
  • Vendor Relations: Build and maintain relationships with event venues, vendors, and partners to ensure smooth event execution and optimal cost-effectiveness
  • Budget Management: Work within event budgets, ensuring all events are executed within financial constraints while delivering maximum impact
  • Post-Event Analysis: Conduct post-event evaluations to measure success, gather feedback, and identify areas for improvement for future events
  • Travel: Willingness to travel as needed for events, including attending cruises to gain firsthand knowledge of the product
  • Reporting: Track and report on the success of events, including the number of leads generated, conversion rates, and customer feedback. Provide actionable recommendations for future events

PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS

Sales conversion:

  • Build and execute 100+ shows per year
  • 20%+ conversion per show

Market and product Knowledge:

  • Stay updated on all Scenic and Emerald product
  • Updated on the latest trends in the luxury cruise industry, including new destinations, ships, and onboard experiences

Customer Service:

  • Demonstrate the ability to anticipate the needs of customers, future guests, travel agents, and consistently satisfy these needs in a professional manner
  • Identify problem areas and seek timely and effective solutions
  • Ensure high priority is given to the focus on customer service within the department
  • Use initiative and judgement to ensure all matters are properly handled

  • Ability to adhere to deadlines
  • Assist sales team to achieve department goals

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in event planning, sales, or hospitality, preferably within the luxury travel or cruise industry
  • Exceptional organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability to manage multiple events simultaneously
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a customer-focused approach
  • Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
  • Proficient in event management software and Microsoft Office Suite
  • A keen eye for detail and a passion for delivering high-quality, luxury experiences
  • May require work extended hours, weekends and undertake domestic travel
  • Must be able to lift 30lbs
  • Valid driver’s licence
