Job summary

Curtiss-Wright Corporation in Ottawa, Ontario is hiring a SMT Machine Operator/Assembler for the 3:30 pm – 12:00 midnight shift. You will support SMT production activities, including online and offline equipment setup, daily operation of SMT placement equipment, stencil washers, and related manufacturing tasks.

We seek candidates with a high school diploma and manufacturing experience; prior SMT, AOI/X-Ray, or SAP exposure is an asset.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• College certificate/diploma in manufacturing/engineering tech is an asset.
• 2+ years manufacturing experience, preferably with SMT equipment.
• 3D AOI and X-Ray experience is an asset.
• Ability to use measuring tools.
• Able to lift normal consumables; move heavy loads.
• Ability to multi-task and adapt to schedule changes.
• Experience in low-volume/high-mix PWB assembly; SMT support experience.
• Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills.
• Experience reading work instructions, blueprints, diagrams, or assembly drawings.
• Experience with formal procedures and supporting documents.
• Good organizational skills.
• Manufacturing/mechanical/electrical or industrial training is an asset.
• SAP knowledge is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Follow established procedures for quality, safety, productivity, and material handling.
• Follow work instructions, drawings, diagrams, and specifications.
• Identify and report damages, missing, or incorrect parts to the supervisor.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
• May contribute as part of the Spill team and/or Health and Safety Committee.
• Meet production and quality targets.
• Operate SMT placement equipment; follow Health & Safety guidelines.
• Perform SMT route steps and operate Laser Marking, SMT Printer, Pick and Place, and Reflow Ovens per procedures.
• Perform SMT Offline/Online setup activities and basic troubleshooting per ME/MES procedures.
• Perform SMT QC as required to support the line.
• Perform preventative maintenance tasks as defined by procedures.
• Record production information or complete paperwork/system entries.
• Handle materials; lift and move supplies as required.
• Support shift rotations as needed.
• Collaborate with team members and other departments to meet schedules.
