Job summary

GFL Environmental Inc. in Winnipeg is seeking a reliable, hands-on Shredder Operator to run our shredder, process plastics and waste, and maintain equipment on site.

You will receive on-the-job training for related tasks, perform basic inspections and housekeeping, and help with loading and unloading as needed. A valid Manitoba Class 5 license, physical fitness, and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• Valid Manitoba Class 5 license or equivalent.
• Physically fit to lift 50+ lbs and stand on cement.
• Able to work independently and in a team.
• Able to perform moderately labour intensive and repetitive tasks.

Responsibilities

• Operate the hydraulic filter crusher and other related equipment.
• Sort, consolidate, and process various waste streams.
• Perform shop and yard housekeeping, including floor and equipment washing.
• Complete basic equipment pre-use inspections, reports, and bills of lading.
• Offloading and reloading box trucks, pups, and trailers.
• Assist with third-party loading and offloading operations.
• Other duties as assigned.
