Job summary

Green Meadow Landscapes is seeking an inner-city maintenance worker/laborer to support tasks around the East Village in downtown Calgary. The role involves outdoor work, public engagement, and various cleanup duties on a full-time, rotating schedule.

The position requires punctuality, accountability, and the ability to document tasks in a digital tracking app. Winter shifts include snow removal and manual shoveling; paid weekly via direct deposit.

Responsibilities

• Follow the direction of Crew Leader.
• Litter and debris removal.
• Biohazard removal (sharps, human waste etc.).
• Bathroom replenishment and maintenance.
• Graffiti removal.
• Public interaction and engagement.
• Snow removal.
• Operate equipment safely and in compliance with policies.
• Use safety apps and required job apps.
• Two-way communication.
• Event set up and take down.
• General labor, cleaning and maintenance.
• Dispose of refuse and manage site cleanliness.
• Abandoned encampment cleanup.
• Attention to detail and asset condition checks.
• Stay on schedule and follow routes/delegation.
• Store equipment safely and securely.
• Participate in Health and Safety and wear PPE.

We are currently seeking
an inner-city maintenance worker/laborer to assist with various
tasks in and around the East Village in downtown Calgary.

In your roll you will:

• Follow the direction of Crew Leader
• Various litter and debris removal
• Biohazard removal (sharps, human waste etc.)
• Bathroom re stocking and maintenance
• Graffiti removal
• Public interaction, and engagement
• Snow removal
• Operate all equipment in a safe and efficient way according to all relevant legislation, policies, and procedures.
• Use of Safety Apps, and various apps required for the job
• Two-way communication
• Event set up and take down.
• Use of tools/equipment/supplies to assist with:
• General Labor
• Cleaning and maintenance
• Clean up & dispose of refuse.
• Abandoned encampment clean up
• Keen eye for detail, and deficiencies in assets
• Ability to stay on schedule and follow routes and delegation
• Ensure equipment is safely and securely stored.
• Participate in Health and Safety. Incident reporting, Practice workplace safety and use all required PPE (Personal Protective Equipment)

The position is full time on a rotating schedule running 4 days on, 4 days off. The shift is 12 hours per day 7:00am - 7:00pm. 44+ hours a week on a banked time system (averaging agreement). Direct deposit paid weekly.

This position requires a lot of walking and a keen eye for detail. Experience is an asset. Must be punctual, accountable, honest, and can work well under pressure. Must take direction well, be able to document all tasks in a digital tracking app. The position is year-round - In the winter, on snow days you are required to manually shovel.
