Job summary

Marid Industries Ltd is seeking an Estimator to join our Sales & Estimating team in Windsor Junction, Nova Scotia. You will collaborate with project managers, production, purchasing, and finance to craft competitive bids and deliver exceptional client service.

The role requires 2–5 years in cost estimation, the ability to read drawings and specifications, and strong communication in a fast-paced environment. Flexibility to visit sites is needed.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years of cost estimation experience.
• Ability to read, interpret drawings and specs.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; strong attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Analyze drawings for commercial, industrial, and institutional projects.
• Verify documents and ensure all materials and specs are present.
• Prepare specification analyses and addenda reviews.
• Prepare proposals, bid forms, and quotes with technical writing.
• Apply knowledge of materials, methods, and processes for accurate estimates.
• Build and maintain relationships with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers.
• Prepare estimates for designs, takeoffs, and pricing for structural steel and miscellaneous metals.
• Define scope of work and manage document control.
• Solicit supplier/subcontractor pricing and distribute tender prices.
