Job summary

ReConstruct Pro, a leading Ottawa-based construction firm, seeks an Experienced Estimator to own cost estimates for commercial and residential projects. The role is in-office only, demanding strong blueprint reading, advanced Excel, and collaboration with project teams to drive competitive bids.

The ideal candidate has a proven estimating track record, can mentor junior estimators, and will manage multiple bids with tight deadlines while leveraging Bluebeam and HeavyBid software.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of experience in construction estimating and pricing.
• Ability to read blueprints and specifications to prepare estimates.
• Advanced Excel and Microsoft Office skills.
• Experience with Bluebeam and HeavyBid; AutoCAD is a strong asset.

Responsibilities

• Prepare complete, detailed cost estimates and takeoffs for residential and commercial projects.
• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and project specifications.
• Get and compare subcontractor and supplier quotes, and finalize bid pricing.
• Build and manage estimates in Excel and Microsoft Office.
• Use estimating software such as Bluebeam or HeavyBid.
• Review past project costs to improve estimate accuracy and profit margins.
• Work with project managers, purchasing, clients, and subcontractors.
• Manage multiple bids at once and meet tender deadlines.
• Support and guide junior estimators.

ReConstruct Pro is a leading construction and renovation company in Ottawa to Kingston. We handle both commercial and residential projects, and we're looking for an experienced Estimator who can take ownership of estimates from takeoff to final bid.

Role Summary

The Experienced Estimator will independently prepare accurate, competitive cost estimates for commercial and residential projects. The role is in-office only. It suits someone with a proven estimating track record, strong blueprint and specification reading, and advanced Excel skills, who can also mentor junior team members.
