Job summary

TalentSphere Staffing Solutions is seeking an experienced Estimator for complex infrastructure projects in the GTA Ontario region.

You will develop detailed cost estimates, perform quantity take-offs, and collaborate with engineering and construction teams to ensure accurate pricing from design through execution. Candidates should bring 4+ years of estimating experience and a background in large-scale infrastructure.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of estimating experience in construction, civil infrastructure, or related industries.
• Diploma or degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or related discipline.
• Experience preparing estimates for large-scale infrastructure projects is preferred.
• Strong ability to interpret drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.

• Develop detailed cost estimates by analyzing labour, materials, equipment, subcontractor pricing, and project requirements.
• Complete quantity take-offs and review drawings and specs to develop accurate pricing.
• Evaluate project scope, identify risks, and provide cost impact insights during design and development.
• Support estimating activities within a collaborative project delivery environment and propose practical solutions.
• Work with engineering and construction teams to reflect real-world methods and constraints in estimates.
• Review design progression and update estimates as requirements evolve.

What You'll Be Doing

• Develop detailed cost estimates by analyzing labour, materials, equipment, subcontractor. pricing, and project-specific requirements.
• Complete quantity take-offs and review drawings, specifications, and technical documents to develop accurate pricing.
• Evaluate project scope, identify risks, and provide insight into cost impacts throughout the design and development process.
• Support estimating activities within a collaborative project delivery environment, helping develop practical and executable project solutions.
• Work closely with engineering and construction teams to ensure estimates reflect real-world construction methods and constraints.
• Review design progression and update estimates as project requirements evolve.
• Manage subcontractor and supplier pricing, including scope reviews and bid evaluations
• Prepare estimate summaries, cost comparisons, bid analysis, and supporting documentation.
• Participate in estimating reviews, risk assessments, and value engineering discussions.
• Identify scope gaps and prepare RFIs to support accurate pricing decisions.
• Contribute to proposal development and major project pursuits.

What You Bring

• 4+ years of estimating experience within construction, civil infrastructure, or related industries.
• Diploma or degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or a related discipline preferred.
• Experience preparing estimates for large-scale infrastructure projects preferred.
• Exposure to transportation, transit, heavy civil, or complex construction projects is an asset.
• Experience working within collaborative project environments such as Design-Build, Joint Venture, or alternative delivery models is beneficial.
• Strong ability to interpret drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
• Strong analytical skills with excellent attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities while working within tight deadlines.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate across multiple disciplines.
• Proficiency with estimating tools, Excel, Bluebeam, and related construction software.
