Job summary

Bauer Foundations Canada provides geotechnical design-build solutions across Canada with offices in Calgary, Vancouver, Oakville and Hamilton. The Estimating Student will help prepare proposals, tenders, and project estimates while gaining hands-on experience in geotechnical foundations and preconstruction processes.

The role targets engineering students or graduates with an interest in special foundations and field learning opportunities. A valid driver’s license is required.

Qualifications

• Civil or Structural engineering student or engineering tech graduate.
• 1–2 years of construction industry experience.
• Valid Class 5 Driver’s License.

Responsibilities

• Assist with reviewing tender packages, drawings, specifications, and geotechnical information.
• Prepare quantity take-offs and support project cost estimates.
• Assist with preparing technical tenders, bids, and supporting documentation.
• Check geotechnical scopes and project requirements.
• Perform general estimating administration and maintain tender files.
• Maintain and update project and geotechnical databases.
• Conduct research to support estimating and tendering activities.
• Liaise with internal teams to gather information for estimates and submissions.
• Participate in site visits and other learning opportunities, where appropriate.

Job description

Reporting to the Estimating Manager, the Estimating Student will support the Preconstruction and Estimating team with the preparation of proposals, tenders, and project estimates. The position is targeted towards ambitious individuals working towards a degree in construction engineering (Civil/Geotechnical) or a related subject ideally focused on special foundations.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assist with reviewing tender packages, drawings, specifications, and geotechnical information

WHAT WE LOOK FOR
