Job summary

AdventHealth in Aurora, CO seeks a registered nurse for Emergency Department. You will assess patients, develop and implement care plans, administer medications, educate patients and families, coordinate with the medical team, and maintain documentation. Participate in Clinical Ladder for potential salary increases based on experience and achievement.

Qualifications

• Associate's of Nursing is required.
• RN license required and BLS/ACLS as applicable.
• ER experience preferred, clinical ladder participation encouraged.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessments to evaluate patients’ physiological, psychological, developmental, sociocultural, spiritual, and lifestyle factors.
• Develop and implement individualized care plans based on patient needs and standards of care, regularly evaluating and revising these plans.
• Administer medications and treatments accurately and safely, following physician orders and hospital protocols, and monitor for adverse reactions.
• Educate patients and families about health conditions, treatments, medications, and self-care strategies to promote understanding and compliance.
• Collaborate with medical staff and ancillary departments to coordinate and optimize patient care, ensuring effective communication and teamwork.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient information, care activities, interventions, and outcomes in the medical record.
• Evaluate the effectiveness of care plans and interventions continuously, making necessary adjustments to improve patient health.
• Ensure compliance with infection control protocols, safety standards, and regulatory requirements to maintain a safe healthcare environment.
• Provide emotional support and therapeutic communication to patients and families, addressing their emotional needs.
• Supervise and delegate care provided by team members to ensure quality and efficiency.
• Engage in continuous professional development and participate in performance improvement activities.
• Respond to code situations promptly and effectively to stabilize patients.

• Must be able to use a high level of abstract reasoning to assess patient, evaluate interventions, and revise plan of care according to patient outcomes
