Job summary

Fraser Health Authority is hiring a Full Time Registered Nurse, Emergency - Specialty Qualified for Delta Hospital in Delta, BC. You will provide direct emergency nursing care within a fast-paced team, assess patients, and collaborate on care plans while engaging families and ensuring safe discharge planning.

The role requires current BC RN registration, with post-graduate emergency experience preferred; benefits include comprehensive employer-paid plans and pension eligibility.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse with BC College of Nurses & Midwives license.
• Post-graduate emergency course or equivalent experience preferred.
• Ability to assess patients and provide direct emergency nursing care.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients and collect information using observation, data review and physical assessment.
• Collaborate with patients and families to develop and update the care plan.
• Coordinate care and prioritize tasks within the emergency team.
• Document assessments, interventions and patient responses accurately.
• Provide patient and family teaching on illness, treatments and discharge planning.
• Participate in care conferences, quality improvement and research activities.
• Support and mentor new nursing staff and students as assigned.
• Adhere to Fraser Health policies and practice standards.
