Job summary

Emterra Group in Victoria, BC, is seeking an Equipment Operator to safely and efficiently run forklifts and balers at our recycling plant. You will move bins and bales, assist with shipping and receiving, perform daily equipment inspections, and document findings.

The role reports to the Plant Manager and supports a new contract starting July 2026 in a noisy, weather-exposed environment. Candidates should be certified to operate forklifts or balers, have experience in waste/recycling, strong

• Certified and trained to operate a Forklift or Baler.
• Experience in the waste and recycling industry is an asset.
• Strong customer service orientation.
• Able to perform the physical requirements of the position.
• Ability to speak, read and write in English.
• Must be available for overtime work.

Job Summary

The Equipment Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of equipment at the recycling plant, including forklifts and balers as directed by Supervisors. This role supports daily operations by moving bins and bales, assisting with shipping and receiving, and completing required equipment inspections and documentation. Duties are performed in a noisy environment and in all types of weather conditions. This position reports to the Plant Manager. This position will support the new contract starting in July 2026.
