Job summary

CertainTeed Canada, part of Saint-Gobain, is seeking an Environmental Manager for its BC mining operations. You will lead environmental strategy, compliance, and continuous improvement across two quarries and rail facilities, interfacing with regulators and Indigenous communities.

You will drive regulatory reporting, risk mitigation, and reclamation planning while guiding a team of technologists and external consultants to meet corporate sustainability objectives and maintain the social license

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field.
• 5+ years progressive environmental experience in mining or heavy industry.
• Strong knowledge of BC regulations, permitting, and compliance.
• Experience with environmental monitoring, reporting, and regulatory engagement.
• Proven leadership and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead environmental programs across quarry and rail sites.
• Mentor Environmental Technologists and manage external consultants.
• Drive environmental stewardship and continuous improvement.
• Align site practices with sustainability objectives.
• Lead permitting activities, amendments, and renewals.
• Prepare and review regulatory reports and submissions.
• Oversee monitoring programs (water, air, effluent, biodiversity).
• Lead reclamation and closure planning.
