Job summary

A leading company in environmental testing is seeking a Field Technician for their Emissions Testing Group in Ontario. The role involves assisting with emissions testing, calibrating equipment, and maintaining data within a team-oriented environment. Candidates should have a background in Environmental or Chemical fields and be comfortable working outdoors and traveling as required.

Qualifications

• Ideal candidate should have an Environmental or Chemical degree or diploma.
• Experience in emissions testing and working with testing equipment preferred.
• Valid Class G driver’s license and passport required.

Responsibilities

• Assisting with emissions testing programs throughout North America.
• Calibrating and maintaining emissions sampling equipment.
• Driving to work sites and preparing for testing programs.

MONTROSE ENVIRONMENTAL GROUP - ONTARIO

Position: Field Technician – Emissions Testing Group

Education: The ideal candidate should have an Environmental or Chemical degree or diploma. Other diplomas and degrees will be considered. Individuals with no post-secondary education will also be considered.

Experience: The ideal candidate will have experience in emissions testing using both Ontario and US EPA emission testing methodologies. Individuals with experience in the following are preferred:

• Working with air testing equipment and analyzers
• Working with electrical equipment
• Working with mechanical equipment
• Repairing electrical and mechanical equipment
• Experience with calibrating equipment
• Working in an outdoor environment
• Working independently
• Farming experience or background.

Position: The job will require the following general tasks to be completed on a routine basis:

• Assisting with emissions testing programs throughout North America
• Driving to and from work sites, including hauling and parking equipment trailers
• Preparation, packing, set up, testing and demobilizing for testing programs
• Calibrating and maintaining emissions sampling equipment
• Repairing emissions sampling equipment
• Operating sampling equipment
• Cleaning sampling equipment
• Delivering samples
• Data entry in Microsoft Excel
• Keeping vehicles, storage areas and lab areas clean and organized.

Additional Requirements: The ideal candidate should have the following:

• A valid Class G driver’s license
• A valid passport, and ability to travel and work in the United States
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
• Ability to work at heights
• Ability to work in hot and cold ambient conditions
• Ability to work overtime
• Ability to perform heavy lifting (50 lbs.)
• Ability to travel on short notice
• Be able to work effectively in a team environment.
