Job summary

Vancouver Island Health Authority is seeking a Casual Environmental Services worker to support cleaning across multiple sites under Island Health’s safety and quality standards. The role emphasizes adherence to policies while performing routine janitorial tasks.

Using a variety of equipment, you will dust, vacuum, shampoo, wash, mop, strip, polish and empty garbage, and will also make beds as part of housekeeping duties. A Grade 10 education is required with good communication skills.

Qualifications

• Grade 10 or equivalent education, training and experience.
• Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
• Ability to deal with others effectively.
• Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.

Responsibilities

• Perform light and heavy cleaning duties using specialized equipment and methods (dusting, vacuuming, shampooing, washing, mopping, stripping, polishing).
• Make beds and empty garbage in accordance with established policies and procedures.
