Environmental Services Coordinator
Full Time, Permanent PositionPosition OverviewReporting to the General Manager of Environmental Services or designate, the Environmental Services Coordinator will assist in the delivery of water and wastewater services and solid waste services, including inspection of waste collection and disposal facilities, liaising with partnering organization, contractors, internal staff, and resident of the Regional District. This position will work out of the Dawson Creek Warehouse location.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have:- Three years related experience and knowledge of sanitary sewer and water distribution systems, preferably in a local government setting.
- Completion of a diploma or certificate in environmental studies or related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
- Experience in public education, consultation processes, group facilitation, public speaking or media relations.
- Excellent organizational skills, ability to establish priorities and independently coordinate workloads to meet timelines and budget expectations.
- A proven ability to compose and edit correspondence and documents, as well as excellent analytical report writing skills.
Preference will be given to Level 1 Operators in wastewater with a minimum requirement of OIT (Operator in Training). A valid Class 5 Drivers’ License must be maintained.
Additional InformationThe hours of work are Monday to Friday, from 8:30 am – 4:30 pm, with one hour for lunch.
The after probation rate of pay for this union position is $38.71/hr, plus benefits.
