Job description

The Role: Credential Evaluator (Casual and Remote)

We are seeking a Credential Evaluator to join our team on a casual basis and working remotely in Ontario. In this role, you are responsible for supporting and assessing applications received through the equivalency stream of the Registration process. You will review, evaluate, analyze and assess applicant experience and academic qualifications, make recommendations to the Registrar and CEO if applicants meet the requirements to be registered with the College as a Social Worker or Social Service Worker.

What you will be doing in the role:

  • Review applications based on a combination of academic qualifications and experience in social work or social service work.
  • Interpret and apply established registration policies to determine substantial equivalence to a degree in social work from an accredited social work degree program or approved diploma in social service work.
  • Prepare a comprehensive summary of the file and provide a recommendation for the decision.

What you will bring to the role:

  • A minimum of three years of experience in assessing experience or academic qualifications.
  • Knowledge of credential evaluation in the post-secondary sector, regulatory sector or social work and social service work field.
  • Knowledge of professional regulation and/or experience with a regulatory body is an asset.
  • Experience conducting research and applying findings to assessments, using sound judgment and strong critical thinking skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, time-management and organizational skills.
  • Exceptional written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated experience with handling sensitive and confidential information.
  • Accuracy and attention to detail are critical.
