Job summary

North Bay Regional Health Centre is seeking an Environmental Services team member to maintain clean and safe patient areas in a hospital setting. You will operate floor scrubbers, vacuums and steam cleaners while following strict safety protocols and infection control guidelines.

Candidates should be able to lift up to 18 kg, push/pull carts, and work with minimal supervision. Strong organizational and communication skills are essential, with bilingual English/French being an asset.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 or equivalent is required.
• Must demonstrate ability to respond to all Codes (Red, White, etc).
• Completion of the Ontario Health Care Housekeepers Association Environmental Services Course for Front Line Staff an asset.

Responsibilities

• Clean the physical environment as directed.

QUALIFICATIONS

Certification/Experience/Knowledge:

• Grade 12 Graduate or equivalent required
• Must demonstrate ability to respond to all Codes (Red, White, etc)
• Completion of the Ontario Health Care Housekeepers Association Environmental Services Course for Front Line Staff an asset

Skills/Abilities:

• Ability to clean the physical environment
• Ability to push/pull carts (1.5 kg to 10 kg force) and lift 18kg
• Be willing and prepared to operate all housekeeping related equipment including automatic floor scrubber, vacuum and steam cleaner.
• Ability to perform the physical demands of the position including continuous/frequent: walking, bending, pushing, pulling, lifting (up to 18 kg), twisting and the ability to climb ladders as needed
• Must be able to work with minimal supervision
• Good organizational, interpersonal and communication skills required
• Must be available for scheduled shifts and call-ins
• Good attendance and work record required
• Must demonstrate commitment to ensure your safety, the safety of fellow workers, patients volunteers and visitors
• Must support and contribute to a culture of safety and prevention of adverse health events in this organization
• Bilingualism (Advanced level English/French) is an asset
