Job summary

Alberta Health Services (AHS) invites applications for Environmental Services II (cleaner/housekeeper trained for healthcare). You will clean and disinfect patient rooms, clinical areas, and public spaces in accordance with AHS standards, using approved procedures.

The role requires physical stamina to stand, walk, lift up to 25 lbs, and push/pull up to 50 lbs. Casual/Relief staffing with varied shifts at Vermilion Health Centre.

Qualifications

• Completion of Grade 10 or equivalent.
• Basic knowledge and operation of computers and a smartphone.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and perform repetitive movements.
• Physically capable to lift up to 25 lbs and push and pull up to 50 lbs.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and follow instructions.

Responsibilities

Your Opportunity:

Alberta Health Services (AHS) is looking for a dependable, highly motivated individual for the position of Environmental Services II (cleaner/housekeeper trained to work in healthcare) that is dedicated to both high-quality work and safety. AHS will provide the necessary training to safely clean and disinfect patient rooms, clinical areas, office areas, and other common staff/public areas in accordance with Alberta Health Services standards and practices.

Description:

As an Environmental Services staff, you will be responsible for a variety of tasks associated with cleaning and disinfecting clinical and non-clinical healthcare environments within a hospital or facility. Your typical duties may include sweeping, mopping and vacuuming; restocking supplies in bathroom facilities; stripping linen and making beds; operating industrial cleaning equipment for floor maintenance and restoration; thorough washing of ceilings and windows; emptying hazardous waste; and replenishing cleaning supplies and linens. You will also be responsible for identifying and reporting potential hazards to your Working Leader and you may also provide training or orientation to Environmental or Laundry staff.
