Alberta Health Services is seeking a dependable Environmental Services staff member to perform cleaning and disinfection in clinical and non-clinical healthcare spaces. You will help create a safer, cleaner environment for staff, patients, and families, using industrial equipment and following high cleanliness standards.
The role includes routine and deep cleaning, restocking supplies, and potential training of other Environmental or Laundry staff.
You are dependable, organized, time efficient, and experienced in working with chemical cleaners. In this role, you will make a difference to staff, volunteers, patients and families alike. The Environmental Services – Cleaner/Housekeeper performs a range of cleaning services in clinical and non-clinical areas, including treatment rooms, staff areas, and public spaces. They will also perform non-routine and deep cleaning tasks, as well as use industrial equipment to perform their work. You will join a team of over 6,000 Environmental Service workers making a difference every day by cleaning, sanitizing, organizing, and restocking to make sure everyone’s experience at AHS is safe, clean, and healthy.
As an Environmental Services staff, you will be responsible for a variety of tasks associated with cleaning and disinfecting clinical and non-clinical healthcare environments within a hospital or facility. Your typical duties may include sweeping, mopping and vacuuming; restocking supplies in bathroom facilities; stripping linen and making beds; operating industrial cleaning equipment for floor maintenance and restoration; thorough washing of ceilings and windows; emptying hazardous waste; and replenishing cleaning supplies and linens.
You will also be responsible for identifying and reporting potential hazards to your Working Leader and you may also provide training or orientation to Environmental or Laundry staff.
