Job summary

Alberta Health Services is seeking a dependable Environmental Services II to clean and disinfect patient rooms and common areas in our Hanna Health Centre. Training will be provided to meet Alberta Health Services standards and practices.

You will perform sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, restocking supplies, stripping linen, operating cleaning equipment, washing ceilings and windows, and reporting hazards. The role is regular part-time at 0.73 FTE with day and weekend shifts.

Qualifications

• Completion of Grade 10 or equivalent.
• Basic knowledge and operation of a computer and a smartphone.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and perform repetitive movements.
• Physically capable to lift up to 25 lbs and push/pull up to 50 lbs.
• Be dependable and able to work with minimal supervision.

Your Opportunity

Alberta Health Services (AHS) is looking for a dependable, highly motivated individual for the position of Environmental Services II (cleaner/housekeeper trained to work in healthcare) that is dedicated to both high-quality work and safety. AHS will provide the necessary training to safely clean and disinfect patient rooms, clinical areas, office areas, and other common staff/public areas in accordance with Alberta Health Services standards and practices.

Description

As an Environmental Services staff, you will be responsible for a variety of tasks associated with cleaning and disinfecting clinical and non-clinical healthcare environments within a hospital or facility.

• sweeping, mopping and vacuuming
• restocking supplies in bathroom facilities
• stripping linen and making beds
• operating industrial cleaning equipment for floor maintenance and restoration
• thorough washing of ceilings and windows
• emptying hazardous waste
• replenishing cleaning supplies and linens

You will also be responsible for identifying and reporting potential hazards to your Working Leader and you may also provide training or orientation to Environmental or Laundry staff.
