Job Summary

We are looking for an Environmental Services Manager to join our team. Your responsibilities will include:

• Developing and executing the Environmental Service Management program.
• Conducting weekly quality assurance audits in housekeeping and laundry, with follow-up and managerial involvement as needed.
• Implementing and coordinating training sessions and an annual training calendar for all housekeeping and laundry staff.
• Reviewing routines, programs, and systems to ensure continuous quality improvement.
• Ensuring the implementation of the Health and Safety program, including trained first aiders, active OH&S committee, and regular audits.
• Training staff in infection control protocols and ensuring compliance.
• Recruiting, hiring, managing performance, and disciplining housekeeping and laundry staff.
• Attending client meetings related to housekeeping and laundry services.
• Completing and submitting monthly quality assurance summaries to relevant managers and clients.
• Participating actively in the Health and Safety Committee.
• Interacting with suppliers and vendors.
• Participating in budgeting and financial management of the departments.
• Ensuring all HR programs are in place for staff, including CHAT, Be-A-Star, HERO, and safety programs.
• Investigating accidents and recommending programs for staff recovery and safety.
• Recommending equipment and supplies for operations.
• Conducting daily maintenance, including physical building care and seasonal tasks like snow removal.
• Participating in the Balanced Scorecard process for the unit.
• Meeting regularly with clients and attending meetings as needed.
• Leading and coordinating schedules for special environmental projects.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary education is an asset.
• At least three years of management experience in healthcare, facilities, or environmental services.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency in Windows and computer skills.
