Job summary

Englobe is seeking an experienced Environmental Project Manager in Ontario to lead Phase I & II ESAs, soil management, site remediation, and hydrogeological studies. You will prepare technical reports, manage budgets, and coordinate field programs across Ontario.

The role demands a university degree in a related field, 5+ years of consulting experience, strong leadership, and excellent communication. A hybrid work setup and travel across Ontario are expected.

Qualifications

  • University degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Earth Sciences, Geology, Hydrogeology, or related discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in environmental consulting with demonstrated project management experience.
  • Experience managing Phase I & II ESAs, excess soil management, site remediation, and environmental due diligence projects.
  • Experience preparing proposals, project budgets, work plans, technical reports, and client deliverables.
  • Strong knowledge of Ontario environmental regulations including RSC processes and excess soil regulations.
  • Eligible for or member of PGO/PEO or equivalent is an asset.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, project management, and client relationship skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, including technical reports and proposals.
  • Valid Ontario G-class driver's licence and willingness to travel across Ontario.

Responsibilities

  • Apply and promote Englobe's health and safety rules, policies, and culture.
  • Manage and deliver Phase I and II ESAs, excess soil management, site remediation, hydrogeological studies, and related environmental investigations.
  • Prepare and review technical reports, environmental assessments, proposals, work plans, and regulatory submissions.
  • Develop project scopes, schedules, budgets, and cost estimates ensuring on-time, on-budget delivery.
  • Coordinate and supervise field programs including drilling, sampling, and subcontractor activities.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to environmental scientists, technicians, and junior staff.
  • Serve as a quality reviewer for environmental reports and project documentation.
  • Maintain compliance with applicable environmental regulations and standards.
  • Build strong relationships with clients, regulators, contractors, and internal stakeholders.
  • Participate in team planning, resource allocation, staff development, and continuous improvement.

Your main responsibilities
  • Apply and promote Englobe's health and safety rules, policies, and culture;
  • Manage and deliver Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs), excess soil management projects, site remediation programs, hydrogeological studies, and related environmental investigations;
  • Prepare and review technical reports, environmental assessments, proposals, work plans, and regulatory submissions;
  • Develop project scopes of work, schedules, budgets, and cost estimates while ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget;
  • Coordinate and supervise field programs, including drilling, test pitting, groundwater monitoring, soil and groundwater sampling, and subcontractor activities;
  • Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and support to environmental scientists, technicians, and junior project staff;
  • Serve as a quality reviewer for environmental reports, deliverables, and project documentation;
  • Maintain compliance with applicable federal, provincial, and municipal environmental regulations and industry standards;
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, regulators, contractors, and internal stakeholders while supporting business development opportunities;
  • Participate in team planning, resource allocation, staff development, and continuous improvement initiatives within the Environmental practice.
What makes you unique
  • University degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Earth Sciences, Geology, Hydrogeology, or a related discipline;
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in environmental consulting, with demonstrated project management experience;
  • Experience managing Phase I and II ESAs, excess soil management, site remediation, and environmental due diligence projects;
  • Experience preparing proposals, project budgets, work plans, technical reports, and client deliverables;
  • Strong understanding of Ontario environmental regulations, including Record of Site Condition (RSC) processes and excess soil regulations;
  • Eligibility for, or membership with, Professional Geoscientists Ontario (PGO), Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO), or another applicable professional designation is considered an asset;
  • Strong leadership, organizational, project management, and client relationship skills;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including technical report writing and proposal preparation;
  • Valid Ontario Class G driver's licence and willingness to travel to project sites throughout Ontario as required;
  • Demonstrated commitment to occupational health and safety, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced consulting environment.
