Job summary

SLR Consulting (Canada) is seeking an Environmental Risk Assessor to join our national Risk Assessment team. You will develop human health and ecological risk assessments, contribute to scoping, budgeting, and proposal work, and collaborate with regulators and clients across Canada.

You will lead technical components of projects, expand your regulatory knowledge, and mentor junior staff while delivering high-quality reports and maintaining strong client relationships.

Qualifications

• 6 to 12 years of experience in preparing risk assessments for diverse audiences.
• Experience with environmental data collection and community surveys.
• Strong analytical and data management skills, with automation exposure.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, able to present to regulators and clients.
• Experience with scope development, budgeting, and proposals.
• Professional designation eligibility (e.g., R.P.Bio., P.Geo., P.Eng.).

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver human health and ecological risk assessments in line with regulatory frameworks.
• Support project scoping, planning, and budgeting activities.
• Evaluate site characteristics and data to inform exposure and risk models.
• Prepare detailed conceptual site models from field and lab data.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to produce technical reports for clients and regulators.
• Support proposals and projects led by other disciplines.
• Mentor and support junior staff within the team.
