Job summary

SLR Consulting (Canada) is seeking an Environmental Risk Assessor to join our national Risk Assessment team and contribute to complex environmental projects across Canada. You will apply regulatory knowledge, develop scopes of work, and support proposals while collaborating with clients and regulators.

The role offers opportunities to deepen expertise in provincial and federal requirements, work on multidisciplinary projects in mining, oil and gas, land development, and public sector contexts,

Qualifications

• 6 to 12 years of experience in preparing high-quality human health and/or ecological risk assessments for diverse audiences.
• Experience with environmental data collection and community surveys.
• Strong analytical and communication skills; ability to work in multidisciplinary teams.
• Experience with scope development, budgeting, and proposal preparation.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver human health and ecological risk assessments and risk management plans.
• Support proposal development, project scoping, planning, and budgeting.
• Evaluate site characteristics, exposure assumptions, and toxicity information for risk modelling.
• Prepare conceptual site models by integrating field data and lab results.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to prepare technical reports for clients and regulators.
• Mentor junior staff and support skill development within the team.
