We are currently seeking an Environmental Policy Analyst to focus on advancing the FVRD's efforts in regional solid waste planning and management. The successful candidate will be responsible for recommending, developing, and coordinating projects and policy directions related to solid waste management and will lead the process to update and implement the FVRD's solid waste management plan. They will help the FVRD stay aware of the latest relevant legislation, research, innovations, and challenges pertaining to solid waste management and will identify and communicate potential environmental and socio-economic impacts on the region to FVRD and member municipality staff. The position will require a candidate to possess and maintain a strong level of knowledge on applicable provincial and federal legislation and policies, to have the ability to make presentations to the Regional Board and at conferences, meetings, or professional forums, and to facilitate discussions amongst stakeholders, agencies, consultants, and the public. The job rate for this full-time Union position is $51.30 per hour plus a comprehensive benefit package.
