Environmental, Health & Safety Coordinator

Mississauga | Full Time | Permanent

Your Future:

As the Environmental, Health & Safety Coordinator, you will report into the Health & Safety Manager (Offsite) and Plant Manager (Onsite). You will:

1. Work with Managers and Supervisors to assist with and implement plant environmental, health & safety objectives and continuous improvement initiatives.
2. Assist with the facilitation and monitoring of the Plant Safety Program to reduce the risk of workplace injuries.
3. Lead the Joint Health and Safety Committee (JHSC) meetings, inspections, and follow-up on the implementation of corrective actions.
4. Facilitate environmental, health and safety training requirements.
5. Provide assistance with WSIB claims management.
6. Follow-up on incident reports and investigations with root cause analysis and implementation of corrective actions.
7. Assist with conducting audits and investigations to ensure safe operations, conducting root cause analysis and risk assessments, along with implementing corrective actions.
8. Maintain accurate and current records in accordance with legislation and company environment, health & safety program.
9. Assist with facilitating and implementing programs such as ergonomics.
10. Manage and maintain ISO 14001 environmental management system and ISO 45001 Occupational Health and Safety Management system, inclusive of managing internal and external audits.
11. Be responsible for gathering data, preparing reports and analytics regarding environmental and sustainability projects.
12. Act as an advisor for management and supervisors regarding changes in legislation, environmental and sustainability trends to ensure preventive measures and compliance of regulations.
13. Lead Safety Culture initiatives to integrate objectives and participation of all employees in Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) programs.

Your Strengths:

1. Post secondary education in Environmental Science, Environmental Health & Safety or related field.
2. 2-4 years’ experience in a similar field, preferably food or pharmaceutical manufacturing.
3. Working knowledge of Environmental, Health & Safety legislation, applicable provincial or local legislation, regulation and standards, including International Standards such as ISO 14001, 9001 and 45001.
4. Proficient in MS Office, Excel, and PowerPoint.
5. Strong interpersonal skills, analytical and detail-oriented mindset with an entrepreneurial spirit and a team player attitude.
6. Ability to prioritize activities and multi-task in a busy work environment.
7. CRSP, CRST or CHSC designation or in the process of obtaining designation would be an asset.

1. 8 hour shift
2. Day shift, *Seldomly Afternoon shift might be required
3. Monday to Friday
