Reporting to the Team Lead - Environmental Health and in accordance with the established vision and values of the organization, the Environmental Health Officer is responsible for carrying out a diverse program of environmental health protection. Using a variety of professional and technical skills, the position aims to reduce the incidence of communicable disease, injury, and health hazards; perform technical assessments; provide consultative and educational services; ensure community development does not conflict with a healthy environment; and ensure compliance with environmental health legislation, policies, and standards.
Shift Rotation/Hours of work: Monday to Friday, Days - 08:30 to 16:30
Dawson Creek
Wide blue skies and the rolling foothills of the Northern Rockies surround Dawson Creek. The city is also known as the Mile Zero City, as it marks the start of the Alaska Highway, a 2,400 km long highway connecting Alaska and the Yukon to Western Canada and the United States. Dawson Creek has a population of approximately 12,500. It provides primary service to a population of approximately 20,000 and helps serve the larger population of the Peace River Region of 60,000. There are eleven elementary schools, one middle school, and one secondary school. The Northern Lights College provides adult education.
