Environmental Field Technician

Position Overview

We are seeking an Environmental Field Technician to join our Environmental Services team in Brampton, Hamilton, or Markham, ON. Reporting to the Manager of Environmental Services, the ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment. This role is suited for self-motivated, hardworking individuals passionate about environmental work.

Key Responsibilities

1. Perform field investigations including test pits, borehole drilling, soil and groundwater sampling, and related reporting for various environmental services such as Environmental Site Assessments (Phase I and Phase II), Record of Site Condition filings, and Excess Soil Reporting.
2. Participate in environmental site remediation activities, including underground storage tank removals and oversight of soil and groundwater remediation efforts.

Qualifications and Experience

• Diploma or undergraduate degree in Natural Sciences (Earth Science, Environmental Science, or Engineering).
• Minimum of 2 years of relevant field experience in environmental work such as drilling, sampling, and remediation oversight.
• Experience with soil vapour, indoor air, or sub-slab vapour sampling is an asset.
• Eligibility for registration with PEO or APGO is an asset.
• Willingness to travel across Ontario and Canada and participate in field programs.
• Knowledge of provincial and federal environmental regulations and experience with Record of Site Conditions filings.
• Strong computer skills, effective communication, and writing abilities.
• Valid G driver's license and access to a vehicle for field visits.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Knowledge of building structures and systems is an asset.
