Job summary

Fort McKay Group is seeking a Bird Environmental Team Operator to support bird monitoring and environmental tasks at a tailings/wastewater operation north of Fort McMurray, AB. The role requires safe operation of ATVs, loaders, and small equipment, with a focus on adherence to site procedures.

The position is full-time, on-site at the Syncrude site, with a 6 on/6 off schedule. A valid driver's license and relevant safety certifications are required, along with the physical ability to perform

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.

Responsibilities

• Support bird monitoring and environmental activities on tailings/wastewater site.
• Operate SHERPA ATV, Kubota, Argo, Loader, and other equipment safely.
• Perform pre-operational checks and maintain equipment cleanliness.
• Set up and remove bird cannons and deterrents.
• Drive company vehicles and transport personnel safely on site.
