Job Description
Our team is growing, and as a result WSP’s Earth & Environment group is currently seeking an Experienced Environmental Consultant to join our Contaminated Lands team in Ottawa, Ontario. Reporting to the Team Lead, Contaminated Lands – Ottawa Ontario, you will support our ambitious plans to enhance our service offering in the province through your work with a close-knit team of engineering specialists, professionals, and technical staff.

What You Will Do at WSP
- Demonstrate a “Safety-First” focus and be a positive role model.
- Prepare and adhere to health and safety plans, identify hazards, and report incidents.
- Manage projects related to Site Assessment and Remediation, including Phase I and II ESAs, site remediation, and supporting Risk Assessments and Record of Site Conditions (Ontario Regulation 153/04, 406/19).
- Supervise and coach junior colleagues, engage with clients and contractors, develop work programs, and prepare proposals.
- Manage projects from proposal to delivery, including schedule and budget control, client communication, and invoicing.
- Participate in client engagement, business development, and mentorship.
- Perform field tasks such as soil logging, sampling, surveying, and environmental monitoring, adhering to industry standards and safety protocols.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or postgraduate degree in environmental sciences or engineering (post-graduate preferred).
- Eligible for registration as a “Qualified Person (QP)” with appropriate professional certification (P.Eng., P.Geo).
- 5-7 years of relevant experience in environmental site assessment and regulations.
- Excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and a passion for safety.
- Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle for local projects.
