The Opportunity:
Our team is growing, and as a result, WSP’s Earth & Environment group is currently seeking an Intermediate Environmental Consultant to join our Contaminated Lands team in Whitby, Ontario. Reporting to the Team Lead, Contaminated Lands – GTA-East, you will support our ambitious plans to enhance our service offering in the province through your work with a close-knit team of engineering specialists, professionals, and technical staff.

What you can expect to do here:
You demonstrate a “Safety-First” focus and act as a positive role model by:
Involved mainly in projects related to our Contaminated Lands services, including Phase I and II ESAs, site remediation, Risk Assessments, and Record of Site Conditions (Ontario Regulation 153/04). Your work will also support clients’ management of excess soil under Ontario Regulation 406/19. You will supervise and mentor junior colleagues, engage with clients and contractors, with guidance from the Team Lead and senior staff.
In the field: supervise and train junior staff in soil logging, sampling, surveying, groundwater and surface water sampling, stream flow measurements, soil vapor, and indoor air sampling. Occasional field work may be required, performed efficiently and accurately, adhering to industry standards and regulations. Strong communication skills (written and verbal) are essential!
