destinationone Consulting is recruiting an Environmental Compliance Officer to ensure organizations meet environmental regulations across British Columbia. You will monitor practices, conduct inspections, and support compliance initiatives.

The role requires a related diploma, experience in environmental regulation, and strong analytical and communication skills to advise stakeholders and coordinate with agencies.

Qualifications

• Certification or diploma in Environmental Science, Environmental Management or related field.
• Proven experience as environmental compliance officer or inspector.
• Strong understanding of environmental regulations and standards.
• Excellent analytical and reporting skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and enforce compliance with local, provincial, and federal environmental regulations.
• Conduct inspections and audits of facilities to assess adherence to laws.
• Review environmental impact assessments and permit applications for regulatory compliance.
• Provide guidance to organizations and stakeholders on regulations and best practices.
• Investigate environmental complaints and enforcement actions as needed.
• Prepare detailed reports and documentation on inspections and enforcement.
• Collaborate with regulatory agencies and community groups to address issues.
• Stay updated on changes in regulations and industry practices.
