Job summary

The Winnipeg Regional Health Authority is seeking a housekeeping cleaner to support its facilities in Winnipeg. The role includes high dusting, damp dusting, dust mopping, wet and dry mopping, vacuuming and carpet cleaning, as well as floor stripping and refinishing and waste handling.

Minimum one year of experience in an institutional, commercial or healthcare setting is preferred; training will be provided.

Qualifications

• Working knowledge of applicable sanitation and safety standards related to the department.
• Observe all aspects of resident safety at all times.
• Ability to learn and apply proper body mechanics, being able to bend, stoop, kneel, stretch over and under furnishings and building fixtures.
• Ability to work from and climb stepladders.
• Maintain a high standard of service and cleanliness.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate in English; both orally and in writing.

Responsibilities

• Perform high dusting, damp dusting, dust mopping, wet and dry mopping, vacuuming and carpet cleaning.
• Floor stripping and refinishing as required.
• Waste handling and general cleaning duties in a healthcare setting.
