Best Buy Canada is seeking an Enterprise Architect to shape our technology vision and guide product teams. You will own domain roadmaps, governance, and target architectures, collaborating with product, engineering, and business units to ensure scalable, future-proof solutions.

Remote-first role with in-person collaboration at our Vancouver head office for strategic work. Strong experience in enterprise architecture, cloud platforms (Azure), and agile environments is required.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of enterprise architecture experience in consumer-facing retail within software applications.
• Proven experience owning technology roadmaps, capability maps, and architecture governance (design reviews, ADRs, standards).
• Translate business strategy into target-state architectures and transition plans.
• Strong cloud, microservices, APIs, and data architecture foundations.
• Familiarity with EA frameworks (TOGAF/Zachman/ArchiMate) and agile EA environments.

Are you a forward-thinking leader who wants to shape an organization’s strategic technology vision? As the Enterprise Architect, you will influence software selection, application strategy, technology patterns, architecture standards, and long-term technology direction. You will help our product teams understand the enterprise architecture landscape and participate in their solutions by guiding and influencing teams to deliver strategic business goals. We practice a remote-first working model, leveraging in-person interactions at our head office in beautiful Vancouver, BC, for strategic, collaborative, and social purposes.

What you'll do as an Enterprise Architect:

• Own the domain technology roadmap, current-state assessment, target-state architecture, capability maps, and sequenced transition plans aligned to enterprise investment cycles.
• Lead architecture governance, including design reviews, architecture decision records (ADRs), and standards of compliance across your domain.
• Define enterprise technology roadmaps and architectural strategies to help determine how systems, processes, data, and platforms should evolve over time to ensure solutions are scalable and sustainable.
• Partner with product, engineering, and business teams to evaluate technology options, define integration patterns, and ensure solutions align with enterprise standards and long‑term strategy.
• Evaluate software products, platforms, and vendors, conduct vendor assessments, review RFP responses, and provide recommendations.

What we’re looking for:

• 5+ years of enterprise architecture experience in consumer-facing retail within the software applications domain.
• Proven experience owning technology roadmaps, capability maps, and architecture governance (design reviews, ADRs, standards).
• Demonstrated ability to translate business strategy into target‑state architectures, transition plans, and sequenced investment cases.
• Strong technical foundation in cloud platforms (Azure preferred), microservices, APIs, event-driven integration, and data architecture.
• Working knowledge of at least one EA framework (TOGAF, Zachman, or ArchiMate) is an asset.
• Experience working within an agile enterprise architecture environment.

Annualized Compensation Range $140,000.00 - $145,000.00 This job is eligible for a company performance bonus in addition to the compensation range above. Starting pay offered will consider skills and experience. Your pay can grow as you build your career with us.
