Job summary

lululemon seeks a Principal AI/ML Engineer to define and drive enterprise-scale AI initiatives. You will shape the AI platform architecture, lead hands-on development when needed, and collaborate with architects, product teams, and data experts to deliver scalable AI solutions across the retail ecosystem.

You will guide governance, model lifecycle, and observability while mentoring engineers and influencing long-term technology direction.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or related field; Master’s preferred.

Responsibilities

• Define the enterprise AI/ML engineering vision and implementation strategy for platform and services.
• Drive scalable, reliable, secure, and cost-effective AI solutions across the enterprise.
• Demonstrate expert coding by building core components of AI platforms when hands-on leadership is needed.
• Collaborate with architects, product leaders, and Data & AI teams to shape enterprise AI architecture.
• Lead design of foundation model services, generative AI, and agentic frameworks.
• Identify platform limitations and risks and propose innovative solutions.
• Provide executive-level advisory on AI investments, model strategy, and governance.
• Drive model lifecycle management, observability, and responsible AI controls.
• Influence product strategy with technical insights on feasibility and value realization.
• Improve engineering productivity via platform enhancements and automation.
• Mentor senior engineers and develop future AI leaders.
• Represent lululemon at conferences and in open-source communities.
