The Toronto Transit Commission (TTC) is seeking a Noise and Vibration Engineering Technician to join the team responsible for subway track inspection, maintenance, testing, and improvement with a focus on reducing noise and vibration. Are you passionate about infrastructure, problem-solving, and field-based engineering work? Join our Noise and Vibration team to assess track conditions, identify maintenance requirements, and contribute to the safe and reliable operation of one of the region's most essential transit networks.
The successful candidate will provide technical support for the inspection, maintenance, testing, and improvement of the subway track network, with a specialized focus on noise and vibration mitigation. Responsibilities include conducting field inspections and condition assessments, investigating track-related defects and noise complaints, analyzing asset performance, and supporting maintenance and capital projects. The role also involves monitoring and evaluating rail grinding, milling, and lubrication programs, assessing their effectiveness in reducing noise, vibration, and rail wear, and recommending corrective actions where required. Working closely with engineers, contractors, and operations staff, the incumbent will prepare technical reports, maintain records and databases, and help develop solutions that support the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of TTC track infrastructure.
