Job summary

The Township of St. Clair is seeking an Engineering Technologist to support the Public Works/Engineering Department in Mooretown, ON. The role focuses on design review, approvals, and inspections for subdivision, roadworks, pipelines and utilities, with field surveys and documentation tasks.

The successful candidate will operate CAD, manage records, and help with studies while maintaining compliance with municipal policies. A 35-hour work week and competitive hourly pay are offered.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary diploma in Engineering Technology (3-year program) or equivalent.
• Class 1 Water Distribution System Operator License with related course knowledge.
• Member or eligible to become an OACETT Certified Engineering Technician (Civil preferred).
• Experience with infrastructure management, modeling, CAD, word processing, spreadsheets and databases.

Responsibilities

• Support design, review, approval and inspection of development and capital works (subdivision, highway, pipeline, utilities).
• Operate CAD system and prepare technical documents.
• Conduct preliminary field surveys and inspections; ensure contractor compliance with regulations and municipal policy.
• Maintain technical records and support technical studies; perform miscellaneous assigned tasks.
