SaskEnergy is seeking a qualified and motivated individual to join our team . The Engineering Technologist, Measurement and Automation provides engineering services to support the planning, design, installation, operation, and maintenance of measurement and automation equipment. This includes the testing, diagnostic and performance analysis of existing or future technological equipment. This job ensures safe, reliable and accurate information is provided for business and operational departments.

Position DetailsUnion – This position is permanent full time.
Maintenance, Support and Testing
Perform or support: troubleshooting and testing of existing measurement and automation equipment.
Perform or assist in: testing, evaluation, implementation and commissioning of hardware and software for new measurement and automation equipment
Maintain inventory and parts databases for measurement and automation equipment.
Develop and recommend measurement and automation equipment maintenance schedules utilizing historical maintenance reports and databases.
Quality and Standards Review
Perform regular field and facility audits to ensure standards and procedures are being followed and recommend improvements.
Participate in the development and review of standard practices, procedures and manuals for measurement and automation equipment.
Participate in presentations, special purpose teams, task forces, process improvement groups and technical exhibits.
Design Support
Research, evaluate and recommend innovative solutions to overcome equipment failures, limitations and technological change.
Assist in the preparation of cost, material and equipment estimates for measurement and automation projects and departmental operating and capital budgets.
Establish and implement preventative maintenance programs for new equipment.
Develop, interpret and implement technical plans, drawings, specifications and standards related to the installation, modification, repair and operation of measurement and automation equipment.
Training Support
Assist in the development, maintenance and delivery of training modules and programs for employees involved in the maintenance of measurement, automation and associated devices to ensure appropriate theory and application content. This includes providing technical support and training on the application of new equipment.
Education
Grade 12 or equivalent.
Engineering Technology Diploma (Electronics, Instrumentation, Chemical or Electrical), from a recognized institution.
Eligible for membership with Technology Professionals Saskatchewan (TPS).
Valid Class 5 driver's license.
Experience
Four (4) years experience in the testing, repair and evaluation of related equipment.
Non-Optional Requirements
Applicable mandatory Occupational Health & Safety training, certifications and other Corporately required training and certification.
Depending on location, standby is routinely scheduled or occasional.
This job is subject to callout situations.
Travel, including overnight stays away from bid headquarters is required on occasion.
This job is safety sensitive, and as such, is subject to the provisions of the Drug and Alcohol Policy (Pre-Employment or Pre-Placement for Safety Sensitive Positions).
