Job summary

PCL in Toronto is seeking Engineering Students for a 4 or 8 month term starting September 2026. You will contribute to our Canadian Buildings Division by coordinating drawings, reviewing trade quantities and supporting field teams on site.

Ideal candidates have an interest in construction and some field experience. You will use drafting, word processing and spreadsheet tools to support project delivery and safety on active sites.

Qualifications

• Candidates must have a strong desire to work in a construction environment and prior field construction experience will be considered an asset.
• Application of various computer software programs will be required, including word processing, spreadsheet applications and drafting.

Responsibilities

• Coordinating drawings, work-specific scope/trades, trade quote reviews; verify material quantities, hours, rates, deficiency walks, etc.
• Participating in project meetings
• Inputting/updating deficiency logs and issuing warranties
• Taking/coordinating progress photos and updating field drawings
• Producing as-built drawings
• Performing quantity takeoffs and coordinating/supervising sub-trade work
• Verifying site conditions and coordinating with drawings
• Layout site lines and grades using total station
• Obtaining scheduling information from sub-trades and updating project schedules

As anEngineering Studentand depending on your assigned project, you will have the opportunity to contribute to our team by:
